I want to live on an Island

Dreams do come true. 

Imagine meeting the person of your dreams, packing it all in, and moving to a paradise island? 

Kim and Ravi Kumar did just that.

This husband and wife team, both live and work on Desroches Island. Originally from South Africa, the two met while working in a hotel in  Dubai and quickly fell in love. 

The couple married, moved back to South Africa and one day, Kim decided to tell Ravi her wish “I want to live on an island!” 

Within 3 years, her wish had come true! 

“I believe that everything you say, goes out into the atmosphere and stays there, until it gets fulfilled” says Kim. 

“Desroches is a very special place with very special people. I’ve met people with different religions to mine, from different cultures, from all around the world, and we just click, instantly. Having an island family, definatey makes it easier being so far away from your real family.”

Of course, Kim also gets to share this experience with her Husband, so after hours they get to experience one of the worlds most romantic destinations. A honeymooner’s dream paradise is their everyday lifestyle!

Ravi loves island life too “This isn’t the way most people get to live. We all are aware that what we are experiencing is very, very special.”

One of the couple’s favorite moments is watching the airplanes taking off and landing, waving to the new guests or saying goodbye to familiar faces.
